Dinner @ Taste Paradise

Its a long over due post! But the food is simply too good to miss. Taste Paradise is located at Orchard Ion. We decided to check out this place because one of the waitress called my dad. Yes, waitress these days, especially those working in established chinese restaurants have the power to bring their customers to whichever restaurant they are working at. Well plus her service was really good. She ( I think her name is jojo or yoyo.) was even able to remember that ah huat does not like mushrooms!

It would be a great place if you are prepared to splurge.

Website: Taste Paradise

The setting: Modern. The deco was simple but elegant, with portraits of chinese emperors welcoming you into the restaurant. Making you feel like royalty. Especially the use of gold as the main table settings.

Appetizer was immediately served as we decide on what to order. I think its some octopus salad.

The food: Simple great canto food!

The first dish was a stone pot shark's fin soup served with crispy spring onion roll. The hot pot kept the soup hot as we savour the soup.

The stone pot was pretty big, so we shared and look at the way my parents are getting excited over the soup.

Alright I can't really remember what this dish is. I think its bacon wrapping something. All I am able to remember is that this is too salty for my liking, and was a pretty ordinary dish.

But this cube beef, is ohh la la! The taste was just beyond description. It was so soft and tasty. Looking at the picture now, makes me hungry again.

I think there were a few dishes in between that I did not take any pictures. Because it was either (a) I was too lazy to take any pictures or (b) the food was gone simply too fast.

Than came dessert. There was an avocado or was it pumpkin cream with ice-cream dessert and another jelly dessert. I thought the creamy dessert was too much to end the meal but the jelly dessert was pretty light and refreshing and would have been my choice!

Than there is the fascination with the dry ice.

Oh and I forgot about this gluttonous rice dumpling with salted egg yolk filling, if I remember correctly. Well even if I can't remember what was inside, I could still remember that it tasted pretty good.

We ordered a second portion because we wanted my mum to try it because it was so good!
